While Cho Yong-pil and Lee Sun-hee have previously been revealed to participate in the performance to be held as a part of the upcoming inter-Korea summit in North Korea, more K-pop acts are added to the line-up.

On March 20, representatives from the South and the North made an agreement on the three-day visits of artists from South Korea for two performances in Pyongyang, North Korea.

“The Pyongyang performance of South Korean ‘art team’ is to be brought to celebrate the upcoming inter-Korea summit and to return the visit of North Korean artists during 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics,” explained a government official.

Newly added artist lineup was highlighted with K-pop names. In addition to previously announced Cho Yong-pil and Lee Sun-hee, Choi Jin-hee, Yoon Do-hyun, Baek Ji-young, Jung-in, Ali, Seohyun and Red Velvet will perform in Pyongyang. Their performances will be made twice, once in East Pyongyang Grand Theatre and once in Pyongyang Arena.

Singer Choi Jin-hee is visiting Pyongyang for the third time, following performances in 1999 and 2002. Her song, “Maze of Love” is known as the song Kim Jong-il used to sing when he was alive.

“Cho Yong-pil, Lee Sun-hee, and Choi Jin-hee are widely known among North Koreans as the icons of Korean singers,” said Yoon Sang, who is representing and directing this performance.

Seohyun, who previously performed with the North Korean band during their South Korea performance on February 11, will sing K-pop with fellow artists Baek Ji-young, Jung-in, Ali, and Red Velvet.
