More artists confirm to join the trip to North Korea for their performance at the upcoming inter-Korean summit!

On September 17, the Blue House reported that more artists including singer Ali and magician Choi Hyun-Woo confirmed to accompany President Moon Jae-In to North Korea, as they plan to conduct the third inter-Korean summit later this month.

On September 16, Im Jong-Seok, the Chief Presidential Secretary for President Moon Jae-In, announced the list of participants who will be performing at the third inter-Korean summit, scheduled to happen on September 18. The list included famous musicians, such as Block B’s ZICO, solo female artist Ailee, as well as producer Kim Hyung-Suk.

The following day, they further announced that singer Ali and magician Choi Hyun-Woo have also confirmed to head to North, thus increasing much expectation from the public.

Regarding the news, each agency released an official statement to express their gratitude for including them in such a meaningful event. Producer Kim Hyung-Suk said, “at the upcoming inter-Korean summit, I have arranged traditional Korean folk song “Arirang” as well as “Our Wish is Unification” for piano. Through music, I will try my hardest to help North and South become closer to one another. I pray that this will be yet another successful summit between the two.”

Ailee shared her gratitude through her agency, YMC Entertainment. The artist said, “it’s an honor to have gained the opportunity to attend the 2018 inter-Korean summit. As it is a meaningful event, I will try to put on the best performance.”

Meanwhile, the first troop of performers to attend the 2018 inter-Korean summit arrived in Pyongyang on September 16. The third inter-Korean summit will take place on September 18. Including the singers, about 200 South Koreans will be traveling up North to attend the event.
