DJ Maximite, the composer of ‘Produce 101’ theme song “Pick Me,” is currently under investigation for assaulting his girlfriend.
On May 30, Seoul Gangnam Police Station reported Maximite was charged with assaulting a woman who claims to be his girlfriend, multiple times in last October. Maximite was then indicted without detention for the assault charges, and the case was forwarded to the prosecution.
Maximite is a DJ/Composer, who co-composed the ‘Produce 101’ theme song, “Pick Me” with singer Koo Jun-Yup. After he received nationwide attention for the ‘Pick Me’ song, he appeared on radio shows and raised his popularity.
On top of the assault charges, DJ Maximite is currently under investigation for repeated use of marijuana at his residence in November of 2017. When the charges added, DJ Maximite released an official apology through his agency.

I worried and disappointed a lot of you with my foolish behaviors. At this time, I offer my sincere apology to you all.
Furthermore, I feel very regretful and am fully cooperating in the investigations. I will also accept any outcome that you think is deserving.
I was going to apologize after completing the investigation, but I decided to release my statement now since the coverage about the current situation is ongoing.
Right now, I am full of regret and shame, but I truly am reflecting on myself. I will go through the investigation without a single error and will accept any punishment. Lastly, I apologize once again, and ask for your understanding.
