In the past year the popular girl group have been on the receiving end of four bomb threats — all from an overzealous “fan” turned tormentor.

A bomb threat disrupted the production presentation of JTBC’s new drama on the afternoon of November 21. The presentation of the new drama, “Untouchable”, was planned to take place on the 7th floor of the Seoul Imperial Palace.

In response to the threat, police and soldiers searched the area for explosives before the presentation began. A JTBC official commented on the situation saying, ” I think we should follow safety procedure. Police need to conduct an internal search — we ask that reporters wait a while.”

What made the bomb threat even more ominous, other than its malicious intent, was the target of the threat. Apink Eun-ji is a main character for “Untouchable” and was present at the Seoul Imperial Palace. The girl group has received similar threats this year and as such, it has been concluded that Eun-ji was the main target. Along with Eun-ji, Kim Sung-kyun, and Go Joon-hee were present when the threat was made.

Due to the nature of the call authorities have concluded that the same person is behind the threat. The person behind the threats against Apink has been traced to Canada, but has not been identified yet. PlanA Entertainment, Apink’s agency, is working with international authorities in an ongoing investigation to find the person making the threats.

The very first bomb threat against Apink occurred during the reporting of a KBS Music Bank special. Furthermore, the second targeted Cho-rong, and the third threatened the group at the Asian Music Awards.
