Around 12 PM KST June 30 police received a report of a bomb threat at KBS Music Bank that was targeting Apink.
Many artists were in attendance for the prerecording and rehersal of the music show’s half-year special show including GOT7, KNK, Red Velvet, Highlight, 9 Muses, MAMAMOO, Day6, SEVENTEEN and many more.
Police arrived at the scene and evacuated around 150 fans. The pre-recordings were halted once information about the threat was received and bomb squads were dispatched to search the area for the bomb.
The authorities were unable to locate a bomb but will stay on the premises to ensure the safety of the artists and fans in attendance.
KBS has released a statement that reiterated that no bomb had been found and that it is there intention to continue with the planned broadcast that will air at 5 PM KST.
This is the second threat that Apink received this month. The first threat was occurred on June 14 from a disgruntled long-term fan. Plan A, Apink’s entertainment company, has stated that the group is safe in their waiting room where they are trying to calm down, but understandably remain in a anxious state.
Apink representatives say that they are unsure if the bomb threat came from the same person from the June 14 incident, but that at the moment this person is their top suspect.
KPOPLOVE will continue to monitor the situation as it develops.
