Actor Lee Jong-suk celebrated his 30th birthday with 6,000 local fans in Taiwan and Thailand.

Lee Jong-suk has successfully wrapped up his Asia Fan Meeting Tour, “Crank Up” in Taipei on September 9 and Bangkok on September 15.

As much as the fan meetings were held around his birthday on September 14, the actor and his fans made the events like special birthday parties.

“I titled the fan meeting ‘Crank Up’ because I wanted to wrap up my actor career in the 20s and greet the next phase with fans,” said the actor. At the fan meeting, Lee Jong-suk went over memorable moments throughout his filmography. To this, fans in both countries replied with special events.

Local Taiwanese fans presented a video message to express their willingness to support the star forever. They also surprised him by showing a card stunt act. Fans in Thailand, too, surprised him with a video message, to which Lee Jong-suk responded with tears.

“I’m so thankful and you guys are my confidence,” said him. “I feel bad because saying ‘Thank you’ is the only way I can express this feeling.”

He continued, “This fan meeting will remain as a precious memory for a long time to me. I might not be able to come back soon, but I surely will be back with a good piece.”

Lee Jong-suk’s Asia Fan Meeting proved his undying popularity regardless of a relatively long absence of activities. Even though fans haven’t seen him on screens since last year’s drama “While You Were Sleeping,” hundreds of fans gathered at each airport to greet him.

Lee Jong-suk will continue his fan meeting tour in Jakarta and Manila, where fan meetings will be held in November.
