On June 21, a JYP Entertainment (JYPE) representative said that “Wooyoung’s military enlistment has not been decided” and that at the moment the singer has “no official schedule” and is taking time to rest.

However, although the agency has not given an exact date, fans and industry insiders believe that it will be in the near future. In another interview conducted earlier this year, Wooyoung said that he would be joining the military later this year.

Additionally, at a June 16 fan sign event the singer commented that it might be the last time he sees his fans before joining the army. He asked fans to stay healthy and that he’s “love to be sad, but in a larger sense, I’m going to protect you (the fans)” by staring his service. Further, he asked his fans to “support [him] proudly.”

Given that the singer is 29 years old and two other members of 2PM are already completing their service, many naturally expect Wooyoung to do the same. Reportedly, he also met with JYPE’s founder Park Jin-young who told he had done a good job and that the “first half is over. Let’s do it again,” possibly referring to his career after he finished his term in the military.

On another note, the 2PM member recently had a solo concert in both Korea and Japan. Further, he also released a new book titled “When We Breakup” which came out in January.
