According to a report published by YTN on July 18, police indicted singer-songwriter Yoo Young-Jin without detention on charges of suspicion fraudulent use of license plates.

Reportedly, Yoo purchased a luxury imported motorcycle worth 29 million won, but he can not ride it in Korea because it did not pass the Environment Ministry’s inspection including smoke emissions. However, instead of rectifying the issue with the vehicle, the songwriter switched its license plate with another motorcycle that he owned.

Yoo allegedly did this so that he could ride the expensive foreign vehicle without an environmental certification. The incident reportedly took place in May. As such, Yoo rode around with the false plate for around two months.

Regarding the news, an SM Entertainmentment official explained that “while waiting for the approval of the motorcycle, Yoo violated related laws,” and is currently “deeply reflecting” on his “ignorant and foolish behavior.”

Meanwhile, Yoo worked on a number of artists’ songs, including H.O.T., Shinhwa, TVXQ, SHINee, EXO and Red Velvet.
