Shin Se-Kyung says no leniency will be shown to the person responsible for the past hidden camera controversy.
On November 19, the press conference for O’live Channel’s upcoming TV program “Pocha Beyond Borders” took place. Actress Shin Se-Kyung participated in the event along with the program’s producing director, Park Kyung-Duk.
During the conference, producer Park took a moment to mention the past hidden camera controversy, that became an unexpected block on the road for the program.
About two months prior, the program encountered a disastrous controversy that outraged many. Shin Se-Kyung had discovered a camera disguised as a portable battery charger in the room she shared with Apink’s Yoon Bomi. Afterwards, one of the staff members turned himself in during a police investigation.
Park said, “I would like to take a moment to apologize once again for the controversy. Especially to those who were at the crime scene, I am truly sorry. It was unfortunate as the incident happened in the final stages of the production. At the moment, legal action is being taken regarding the person responsible for the incident.”
He continued, “we decided that the only way to make up for our mistakes is to provide you with good materials until the end. The production team takes heavy responsibility for the incident and we will continue to be on the look-out to prevent reoccurrence.”
Moreover, actress Shin Se-Kyung also shared her thoughts on the incident.
Shin said, “Now, I’m more careful about the possibility of people illegally recording me. I truly hope that the time comes where the victims are safely protected and the people responsible for incident like these receive a severe penalty.”
At the end, she concluded, “this is our final product, for which many staff members and cast put their hearts and effort into with one goal in our mind. We hope that the joy and fun we had while filming will transfer to our audience.”
