In a recent interview with Star1 Magazine, former JBJ member Kwon Hyun-Bin shared about his aspirations as a singer.

Recently, former JBJ member Kwon Hyun-Bin participated in a pictorial, followed by an interview for the magazine’s August edition. In the interview, Kwon Hyun-Bin talked about what he does in his free time, the efforts he put into becoming a better musician among other things.

“On the days I don’t have filming for MBC “Dunia,” I usually spend time composing and writing lyrics. Currently, I’m learning how to write music because I want to be able to make my own music someday. I’m working really hard to avoid writing obvious and cliche lyrics.”

When asked which title he prefers between ‘singer’ and ‘model,’ Kwon Hyun-Bin said he prefers being called a singer. Without hesitation, he said, “I like it when people recognize me as a singer. I have shown the “model Kwon Hyun-Bin” during those 3-4 years I was active on runway. However, I haven’t shown much of the “singer Kwon Hyun-Bin” besides when I promoted as a member of JBJ. Therefore, even I’m curious as to what I can do as a singer.”

Furthermore, Kwon mentioned A$AP Rocky, Travis Scott, and Beenzino as his role models. “While the three don’t really having anything in common, they are all my role models. I like Beenzino’s musical style. I like his tight rapping, groove, and the vibe of his songs. He is a great singer who can do music very well.”

Kwon also shared about some apparent changes since the disbandment of JBJ. He said, “I learned for the first time that something I did without thinking too much could look like something meaningful to others. A few days ago, I posted a picture of a heart cut in half, and people misunderstood it as me sending a secret message to my girlfriend. I don’t have a girlfriend, nor am I seeing anybody. After promoting as a member of JBJ, I realized I have become someone who can influence other people’s feelings.”

Kwon Hyun-Bin also mentioned about MBC “Dunia,” a variety show that he currently appears in. Kwon said, “until the first episode aired, I wasn’t sure what kind of show “Dunia” was. However, after watching the first episode, I realized I should talk a lot. I thought this would be like a documentary, but I realized it was something completely different. “Dunia” is very confusing, even to its own cast.”
