Kang Min-Kyung PD for the upcoming KBS drama “Lovely Horror-vely” has ran into an obstacle even before the premiere.

Recently, the producing director for the upcoming KBS drama “Lovely Horror-vely” created a much clamor for comparing the family of Sewol Ferry victims as comparison to criticize an actor’s acting. Producer Kang soon realized her fault and apologized, but it seems that the public have completely turned their backs.

A week ago, several sources reported that producer Kang made an inappropriate comment regarding the victims of Sewol Ferry to criticize an actor’s acting. According to the sources, Kang had apparently said, “why are you making facial expressions that the family of Sewol Ferry victims make?”

Afterwards, the staff members on the scene who witnessed the situation considered it a thoughtless behavior, and wrote about it at an online community. They argued that the producer had gone too far with the comment, using unnecessary comparisons to criticize an actor.

Her remarks spread like a wild fire on both online and offline communities, resulting in several news articles, as well.

In response, the Chief Producer Bae Kyung-Soo explained, “there was a scene where actors had to act out an interview. Regarding the scene, producer Kang had commented “this is not an interview about Sewol Ferry” to brighten up the mood. However, some staff who thought it was thoughtless shared it via an exclusive online community. We were not aware of the situation before it spread online.”

Furthermore, CP Bae Kyung-Soo revealed that producer Kang has acknowledged her fault and apologized. He continued, “producer Kang is currently reflecting upon her mistake. Also, this is the first mini series that she has ever produced. Because of that, the producer is going through many other problems as well. Of course the comment about Sewol Ferry has affected her mentally, but the important thing is that she focuses on the drama production.”
