On July 16, several different media outlets reported that boy group iKON is in the final stages of next comeback album. Further, according to reports, the group is aiming to return with new music at the end of July, four months after they released Rubber Band in March.

YG Entertainment’s founder Yang Hyun-suk, hinted at the group’s return on social media earlier this month when he wrote that the “iKON is shooting (sic) a new song” and that they will “start” in the second half of the year. This update following a previous post at the end of May when Yang reported that the group’s album was 95 percent complete.

Meanwhile, with this confirmation many expect summer to get even hotter once the group’s new song comes out. Even in January their song “Love Scenario” heated-up charts and fans hearts alike, taking the top spot for 43 days. Additionally, “Love Scenario” was also named the top K-pop song for the first half of 2018 by Billboard. As such, attention is focusing on whether the group will continue their successful streak.

After the group concludes their comeback activities they will have a concert “iKON 2018 CONTINUE TOUR” at the Olympic Park Gymnasium on August 18. Afterward, the seven members will head overseas for performances across Asia.

[UPDATE]

A leaked image that emerged on July 17 indicates that the group’s comeback is slated for August 2.
