Highlight member Yang Yo-seob is working out all of the details for his upcoming military service.
According to sources, Yang Yo-seob recently applied to serve in the auxiliary police force and just received a notice of acceptance after a lottery draw.
As of August 21, the military’s websites said that it would accept enlistments within 5-7 months after servicemen have been allowed through the lottery. As such, it is expected that Yang will begin his service in a few months at the least.
Reportedly, Yang has applied to the general entertainment conscripted police force and was accepted. However, earlier this year, the Military Manpower Administration (MMA) announced their plan to abolish the conscript. Consequently, the MMA has scaled back the admissions into the police force significantly. The goal is that by 2023, the whole division will no longer exist.
Meanwhile, starting with Yang Yo-seop, who was born in 1990, Highlight members will join the military in succession. Further, with BTOB’s Seo Eun-kwang, born in 1990 too, already enlisted, idols born in the same year will likely begin their service. Some idols other than Yang and Seo includes VIXX N and Leo, and EXO Xiumin.
