On August 15 broadcast of “Solji’s Voice Season 2” on Nave V Live, EXID’s Solji confirmed that she will be joining the members for the upcoming EXID promotions, after taking a step aside from the industry due to health issues. First, fans asked who the younger generation idols that Solji fangirls over, and the singer answered that she is a big fan of Kim Na-Young from Produce 48, as well as Red Velvet’s Irene.

Then, she turned to share a fun anecdote from the filming of “Up & Down” music video. Solji said, “we had to film a choreography scene on top of sand. While we were dancing, the sand kept getting into our shoes, and every time we took a break, we had to shake it off. It was the first time I ever danced on sand so I even thought about dancing barefoot.”

With Hani, who appeared as a special guest, the singer also talked about their time promoting as the unit Dasoni. Solji said, “at the time, we had to wear a qipao (Chinese traditional dress) as our outfit. It was very hard to pull off.”

Hani added, “I felt awkward wearing the outfit. At the time, I had gained a lot of weight. So during the scene where Solji had to hid behind me, my body hid her a little too well.” At the end, Hani commented, “we will soon make a comeback as a full group. I hope you look forward to it.”

Solji commented, “I had a lot of fun for the past 7 weeks. Now, I will not only communicate with you through my voice, but also on stage. I’ve always felt very sorry for my fans because I feel like I’ve made you wait for too long. However, I feel butterflies in my stomach just to think that soon, I’ll get to meet you in person. Please wait for me a little bit more, and I’ll come back stronger than ever.”

Meanwhile, Solji was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism in 2016. Afterwards, she went on a long hiatus, undergoing decompression surgery and focusing on recovering health. Since then, EXID had been promoting as 4-member group, with official Japanese debut ahead of them on August 22.
