For some, doing taxes can be a stress-inducing time of the year for many, but it seems like actor Cha Seung-won approached the paperwork with gusto. After all, he did just get an award for it.

The celebration of the 53rd Taxpayer’s Day celebration (yes, its a real thing) held at the Gangnam Tax Office in Seoul on Monday was a big day for actor Cha Seung-won. On this day he was honored for fulfilling his citizen’s duty of paying his taxes with the Model Tax Payer award by the head of Seoul’s Regional Tax Service.

The actor was credited with contributing to the wellbeing of national finance and for further establishing a proper advanced tax culture. Along with the award, Cha will also act as an honorary ambassador for the country’s tax service by encouraging others to do their taxes as well.

In 1973, the National Tax Service established Taxpayer’s Day as a way to commemorate and guide citizens toward their tax obligations. Additionally, later this month on the 24th is the Tax and Customs Day. To celebrate both holidays, major events will be held like the one where Cha was honored around the city and country.

Meanwhile, on the 15th, the first broadcast of tVN’s entertainment program “Boarding House in Spain” starring Cha will air.
