Authorities are conducting an investigation into rapper Jung Sang-soo for alleged sexual assault. This incident is the artist’s sixth run-in with police.
On April 25, reports revealed that rapper Jung Sang-soo is being investigated by police for sexual assault.
Jung has denied the charges and claims that the “sex with the woman was consensual.” Adding to the explanation, Jung admitted that he the woman was intoxicated when he brought her home. However, once there she fell asleep. Once she woke up the two had sexual intercourse and asserts that “there was no coercion.”
The investigation began when a woman called the Western Ilsan Police Department on the 25th. In the phone call, the woman claimed that Jung forced himself on her. According to authorities, the alleged victim explained that the incident happened in the early morning of April 22. Moreover, she insists that the sexual assault happened while she was intoxicated and unable to function properly nor resist.
So far, the staff at the Western Ilsan Police Department have transferred the case over to their eastern counterpart since the incident occurred in their jurisdiction. Next, the police will investigate the victim, who is currently being supported by a center who supports victims of sexual crimes. Once that concludes, authorities say they will summon Jung.
On another note, Jung Sang-soo first made a name for himself on the Mnet’s “Show Me the Money 3,” years ago. His rapping skills were unique and he quickly gained a following. Unfortunately, Jung suddenly disappeared after joining the producer’s team, leaving many disappointed.
Since then the rapper has been arrested and investigated by police five times in the past year. This count does not include the current investigation. Moreover, his label decided to end their management of Jung last December because of his persistent drinking and violent behavior.
