Loved for his clean, friendly image and boyish charm,  actor Park Hyung-sik is dominating the stage with a sexy and dark look as Death in the musical “Elizabeth.”

“Elizabeth” weaves a story of intrigue, desire, and death in both the sense of the act and of the character. Dark, mysterious, and seductive, Death as a character is the opposite of innocent, friendly, and boyish charm that actor Park Hyung-sik is loved for.

As Death, Park has put in tremendous amount of effort to fit the role. In particular, he has demonstrated growth in his vocal and acting ability in comparison to his last stage play “The Last Musketeers” in 2016.

Indeed, as Death, Park has to compete with the likes of Ryu Jung-han, Song Chang-rok, Kim Junsu, Park Hyo-shin, Jeon Dong-suk, Se7en, and VIXX Leo who has all brought their own flair to the role, past and present. Notwithstanding the footsteps of those who have taken on the part of Death before, Park has expressed his determination to make it his own.

Unlike his roles in “The Three Musketeers,” two years ago and “Bonnie and Clyde” in 2014, he is showing off a different charm this time around. Notably, the actor has emphasized the seductive quality of his character. With silvery gray hair and dark clothing, Park has done away with his good boy image for an elegant and sexy rendition of Death. There is delicate feelings into each expression, look, and gesture throughout the acting process, and maximizes the sophisticated and devout charm of his character.

Meanwhile, during its first run in 2012, “Elizabeth” topped the theater box office for 10 consecutive weeks and with 150,000 theatergoers. Furthermore, the musical had won eight awards including Best Musical of the Year at the 6th annual Musical Awards.
