On December 21, an official from Fave Entertainment, who manage JBJ, told news outlets that “JBJ will return next year in January. The details have not been set (for the come back).” This announcement is interesting considering that JBJ is also currently in the midsts of contract discussion with the agency. When the topic of group’s contract came up, the official said, ” It is likely to be decided after the album.”

JBJ was formed from 6 contestants of Mnet’s popular survival program “Produce 101 Season 2.” Unfortunately, unlike Wanna One, JBJ has not had the same success. Their debut album, FANTASY, with a title track of the same name sold 131,878 copies. Further, the title song entered MelOn’s music chart at no. 18.

The group’s original contract is valid until April but may be extended. This extension will likely be directly related to the performance of the boy group’s second album and contract discussions. This new album will come about five months since their October debut and is anticipated by fans.
