ZICO expresses his support and love towards his brother, Woo Taewoon!

On September 22 broadcast of KBS “Joy of Conversation,” Block B’s ZICO appeared as a guest to have an honest conversation about his life. Throughout the conversation, the public could take a sneak peek at the artist’s love towards his family members, including his brother.

When asked where he mostly spends his copyright earnings, ZICO revealed that he doesn’t spend it on anything special. The rapper said, “I don’t even have a hobby. The first copyright money that I received, I gave it straight to my parents. I gave it all to them until I had finally paid off all debt.”

He continued, “we didn’t have a very stable income as a family. It wasn’t severe so we weren’t starving or anything, but I was very aware that we were not so-called “loaded” with money. So I always thought I had to earn a lot of money (for my family).”

Then, ZICO revealed that he cried while watching 2016 film “My Annoying Brother” starring Jo Jung-Suk and Do Kyung-Soo. The film had reminded him of his brother, Woo Taewoon.

The singer said, “because we studied abroad when we were young, it was always me and my brother living together, alone. I’m the only one who saw my brother go through his puberty. We were always fighting. We spent days like we were at war, but eventually, they became good memories.”

He continued, “we were those brothers who fought a lot, but because we spent so much time together, our love for one another grew as well. It’s very different from what you feel towards a friend. A whole new depth of emotions.”

ZICO also said he is willing to do anything for his brother. The rapper claimed, “there was a time where my brother struggled through a lot. At the time, I wanted to be the one who could solve his problems regardless of what I had to do.”

At the end, the rapper shared what makes him afraid the most. ZICO said, “I feel anxiety from time to time. However, I don’t really have anything to worry about nowadays. I guess I have come in terms to accept some things. Last year, I used to grow obsessive over the term – happiness. I used to think that happiness needs to exist when I feel the most satisfied.”

“But that’s not always the case. Happiness can come even when you are not at your best. Sometimes, it’s already there. You just can’t see it,” concluded ZICO.
