“First of all, I apologize for the concern I caused regarding my father,” actress Lim Ye-jin (58) said through YG Entertainment, her agency, on Saturday.

According to a report a news outlet published on the same day, victim “A” who is now 71 years old, was a past acquaintance of Lim’s father. “A” claims that when he worked as a real estate agent in Incheon years ago, that Lim’s father borrowed 250 million won (approximately 220,800 USD) for his business.

In order to pay back the loan, Lim’s father said he would sell some land that he had in South Chungcheong Province, allegedly worth around 600 million won (529,930 USD). However, “A” claims that Lim’s father has not paid him back for the past decade. Further, he argues that the market value of the land is only 60 to 70 million won (about 53 to 62,000 USD).

Explaining her situation, the actress divulged that she has and her father cut off contact after her mother passed away. However, she decided not to delve too much into detail. “Please understand that it is difficult to tell us all the details of the painful and difficult past family history and that we no longer have contact with each other,” Lim said.

Continuing, Lim said that while she does not know the exact details of the claim, she feels legally responsible. More, although embarrassed by the situation, she will try to resolve the issue peacefully.

Meanwhile, Lim is a prolific film and television actress who has starred in several well-known works. Some of the recent shows she has appeared in include “A Korean Odyssey” and “The Best Hit.”
