Prior to releasing his first studio solo album, WINNER’s Song Min-Ho talks about the support he received from the YG family!
On November 26, WINNER’s Song Min-Ho hosted an interview to celebrate the release of his first studio solo album “XX.” The rapper talked about the preparation process, as well as the support he received from the YG family, including WINNER members and CEO Yang Hyun-Suk.
Song began, “my first studio album is out. To be honest, I feel a little overwhelmed. I’ve been waiting for this moment for a long time and the preparation took forever. Everything feels so surreal. It’s a different feeling than when a WINNER album comes out. Nervous, but excited.”
Then, Song Min-Ho went onto express his gratitude towards the YG family for showing support for his first studio album. The rapper said, “for example, Yoo Byung-Jae featured in my track ‘HOPE.’ I think he saved the track. I added the track at the last minute, but couldn’t think of anyone that would perfectly fit into the vibe of the song. Then, I thought of Yoo Byung-Jae. When I told Yang Hyun-Suk, he allowed because he thought it would be funny. I’m very satisfied and thankful for him.”
He also talked about the reaction from other WINNER members. Song said, “my members were, of course, very supportive about it. Jin-Woo has the cleanest and honest ears and I’m glad to have received an OK sign from him.”
Lastly, he mentioned his boss, Yang Hyun-Suk. The rapper said, “he pulled many all-nighters with me and showed me his interest. He was the second person to listen to the tracks as many times as I have. To be honest, I was so impressed. This doesn’t happen very often at YG. He even cared for the little details in non-title tracks. He texted me and discussed things with me that I felt like he was my girlfriend. I’m so thankful.”
