Group Wanna One had its last performance before disbanding at the 2018 MBC Music Festival.
On the evening of New Year’s Eve, MBC held their year-end music festival at the MBC Dream Center in Ilsan. As the event proceeded through the night, hosts Noh Hong-chul, Yoona, Minho (SHINee), and Cha Eun-woo guided the audience through the different segments.
In particular, when it came to boy group phenom Wanna One to take the stage, Noh made clear the significance of their performance. “Now, the members will return to their respective groups,” he said. On stage, the group performed hit songs “Light” and “Energetic,” filling the venue with a vibrancy that embodies the group. Like the members, their fans also cheered loudly lending even more to the atmosphere that was both celebratory but also sad.
After finishing their stage, Kang Daniel spoke to the crowd. “This year, everyone worked hard. Thank you to all the singers and staff who worked hard preparing for the year-end performance,” he said. Lastly, he added a wish for next year saying that he hopes that all of the group’s members can continue to be successful.
Other members like Ong Sung-woo also spoke afterward too. “I’ve had a lot of valuable experiences during the one-and-a-half years. Wanna One will disband today, but I hope that you’ll remember it forever in your hearts,” Ong said.
