On October 25, Pledis Entertainment responded to rumors of PRISTIN member Xiyeon putting an end to her exclusive contract with the agency. The source said, “the rumors of Xiyeon leaving the agency are false. She is still an artist under Pledis and currently working very hard for their next comeback.”
Earlier today, one media outlet reported that Xiyeon terminated her exclusive contract with the agency. The reports further confirmed that she had also departed from PRISTIN.
Meanshile, PRISTIN is a rookie group that debuted in 2017 with Nayoung and Kyulkyung from “Produce 101 Season 1” as its main members. Their last comeback was in May as a unit group, PRISTIN V.

On May 17, Pristin V revealed its “signature image” through their official SNS accounts and announced their debut. The revealed image contained a message that said, ‘PRISTIN COMING SOON’ and had their signature logo, a red ‘V’ mark.
Another image contained various parts of the 5 members – Nayoung, Rena, Eunwoo, Roa, and Kyulkyung. In addition, they had previously mentioned that the group will display a different image and concept for the sub-unit. The concept will be “dark yet powerful,” which is different from the bright and flashing concept that Pristin had before.

On Nov. 29, Wanna One and Pristin took home “Best New Female/Male Artist” at the 2017 MAMA (Mnet Asian Music Awards) held in Yokohama, Japan.
Wanna One shared their thoughts in a speech. “Thank you for the award. We were thrilled just to even have a chance to attend MAMA. We want to thank our parents and everyone who has worked so hard for us. Now, we would like to pay it towards them. We will work hard without losing sight of our purpose,” they said.
Members Hwang Min-hyun spoke Japanese for the Japanese fans while Lee Dae-hwi spoke in English.
Pristin also conveyed their thanks. “Thank you for giving us such a big award. We were also thrilled and thankful for having the chance to attend MAMA. We want to thank our hard-working staff, and we hope to become a group people can be proud of,” they said.
“Our youngest member, Kyla could not join us today. We wish for her fast recovery so she can join us on stage once more. Please look forward to even more good releases.”
