A petition seeking a strong response to Media Line’s abuse of band The East Light has reached a level warranting acknowledgment from the Blue House.
By October 24, an online petition seeking the government’s response to Media Line’s abuse of band The East Light over the past several years has reached 200,000 signatures. Notably, this petition gained the amount just five days after it was created on Oct. 19. Moreover, with this amount of signatures, the Blue House is expected to issue an official response.
The creator of the petition titled “The East Light Assualt” wrote that the band, who have an average age of 15, “beginning with Media Line’s producer (the group) has been constant assaulted.” Then, the author delved into further developments revealed by one of the band members. Concluding the petition’s description, the author asks if the alleged perpetrators will be punished “only if they kill someone.”
Meanwhile, band members Lee Seok-cheol and Lee Seung-hyun filed a criminal complaint against media line officials including producers Moon Young-il and Kim Chang-hwan on charges of assault and defamation.
