On June 24, The Korea Tourism Organization and the ministry of culture, sports, and tourism announced that SM boy group EXO is the next brand ambassadors.

As representatives of these organization, the group will work on new overseas advertisements to attract foreign tourists. Given the EXO is one of the top K-pop groups and has a huge global fanbase and influence on digital media like YouTube, the organization expects them to be very successful.

According to the announcement, the group will create ads that hone in on the global trend of distributing tourist information based on digital media. Further, they will also be looking to capitalize on an increase of solo visitors traveling to Korea.

Moreover, with their campaign, the group will work to produce customized content that focuses on a variety of experiences. This will include food, history, nature, day-to-day life, Hallyu, and more. Reportedly, they want to highlight points of interest and unique characteristic of Korea from the perspective of foreigners.

Notably, this year’s series of commercials will introduce peace tours on the Korean peninsula. The two organizations will spotlight places such as the DMZ, Imjingak, and other tour content.

Meanwhile, the ministry and organization will launch the new adds in August and can be seen via overseas broadcasts and on digital platforms like YouTube and Facebook.
