On September 10, YBN Entertainment announced that it had terminated its contract with boy group KNK. According to reports, the company has ongoing financial issues. As a result of its inability to resolves its solvency problems promptly, it could no longer house the group.

Although they don’t have a management company at this time, KNK still plans to remain a group and are looking for another agency. However, they will only continue as a quartet. Member Kim You-jin, who was diagnosed with panic disorder this year, decided to leave the team.

In a message posted on the group’s fancafe, Kim opened up to fans about his decisions and also apologized. “I’ve been so happy to debut and promote as KNK’s main vocalist for the past two years,” Kim starts off. “It has been a longstanding dream of mine since I was a child and I wanted to do better than anyone else. As those thoughts burdened me, psychological difficulties arose as I became more frustrated with myself, and I finally made a difficult decision to leave the team,” he explains referring to his mental illness.

Continuing, Kim talks about how he spent time focusing on treatment, but as a result, it became difficult to get on stage and perform. Although he believes he made the right decision, Kim offered his sincerest apology to the members and the group’s fandom. Moreover, while he won’t be performing with the group anymore, Kim says that he will “support and pray” for the members and their success.
