Jeon So-Mi has left JYP Entertainment!
On August 20, JYP Entertainment announced that Jeon So-Mi has left the agency. The company said, “after discussing the matters with our artist So-Mi, we have agreed to end our exclusive contract with the artist.”
The following is the official statement from the agency:
Hello, this is JYP Entertainment.
After discussing the matters with Jeon So-Mi, we have agreed to terminate our exclusive contract with the artist.
We sincerely thank all fans who have supported and stood by the artist until now.
Meanwhile, Jeon So-Mi had spent years training under JYP Entertainment. The artist appeared in the JYP exclusive survival audition program “SIXTEEN” in 2015, from which girl group TWICE debuted, but unfortunately did not make the cut. Afterwards, she appeared in Mnet’s “Produce 101” in 2016 and won the program, and actively promoted with a project group I.O.I for two years.
