IU takes her first lead role in film!

According to OSEN on September 12, IU and Bae Doo-Na confirmed to appear in a new short film, directed by producer Lee Kyung-Mi. The movie will begin filming at the end of September.

According to a source, they have yet to confirm the title of the movie nor the release date. However, the movie is reportedly about tennis, but the actresses themselves will not be playing the role of tennis players. Currently, they are in the process of revising the script.

Meanwhile, IU has briefly appeared in several films in the past, but never as a lead role. In 2011, the singer participated in a film making project with variety show “Heroes” members, where Brown Eyed Girls’ Narsha took control of the production, and Yoo In-Na wrote the scenario. Afterwards, she made a brief appearance in the 2017 film “Real” to support her friend, Kim Soo-Hyun.

Consequently, this is the first time IU has taken a lead role in a legit movie, directed by a real filmmaker. Because of her proven acting skills in several dramas, such as “The Producers” and “My Mister,” much anticipation arises as to what she will show off in this upcoming film.

Furthermore, curiosity also arises about the chemistry between IU and Bae Doo-Na, which the public has never seen before.
