Former I.O.I member and “Produce 101” alum Jeon So-mi shares an update with fans regarding her solo debut.

On Wednesday, Jeon So-mi took to her personal Instagram account to update fans about her upcoming solo debut. In an Instagram story that she wrote in both Korean and English, the singer asked fans not to be sad while waiting for since her return is “really not that far away.”

According to Jeon, the day that her album comes out is “going to come” but is being delayed because she wants everything to be perfect before its release. However, with all that said, she failed to provide a ballpark estimate for her debut. Consequently, something described as “not far away” is relative; this could mean a few weeks or months. The upside is that the pictures accompanying her message appear to be on some kind of set which could even be her music video.

Meanwhile, Jeon left JYP Entertainment (JYPE) last August after the two sides agreed to terminate her contract. The singer had spent years training under the company and appeared in the agency’s exclusive survival audition program “SIXTEEN” in 2015, which produced TWICE. Moreover, before leaving JYPE, she was preparing to debut with the company’s newest girl group ITZY.

A month later in September, The Black Label confirmed reports stated that Jeon had signed with it. In a statement, the agency said that Jeon is an artist who has already proven her skills and her tremendous amount of potential” for other activities.
