The five-member boy group filed a lawsuit against the head of their former agency CJ Victor Entertainment to terminate their exclusive contracts.

According to multiple reports published on June 22, the Seoul Central District Court ruled on a lawsuit that boy group INX filed against the CEO of their former agency. According to the reports, the group experienced verbal abuse and mismanagement that resulted in a toxic and unproductive environment. As such, the group filed a lawsuit to render their exclusive contact with company null and void.

In released court files the group said that they had already expanded their activities outside of Korea and were starting to make an impression in places like China, Taiwan, Vietnam, and Japan. Further, they comment that INX was gaining attention as “new Hallyu hopefuls.”

However, the group reportedly negligible management. Their now former agency failed to appoint a manager and made unreasonable demands. The agency ordered members to pay for their own styling and maintenance including hair, makeup, and cosmetic beauty treatments. In particular, this agency also refused to supplement or pay for the INX’s daily necessities and food.

It was reported that agency employees who insisted on provided food support were forced to leave the company. Further, the group also were on the receiving end of verbal abuse with some at the agency commenting that they “won’t die if they miss one meal,” and more. Importantly, the members were not properly compensated either.

Fortunately, the court ruled in favor of the group and terminated their existing contracts without dispute. As a result, the members are now free agents. Regarding the verdict, the representative from the agency declined to comment.

Meanwhile, INX debuted in 2016 with “Alright” but gained attention before then for their average height of 180 centimeters (6 ft.) and good looks. Since then, they released another album in 2017 and performed at Japan’s KCON last year. The members have not announced what they hope to do in the future.
