Actor Bong Tae-gyu expressed support for his son Si-ha for not following social gender norms.

On July 16, Bong Tae-gyu shared a posting through social media. In the posting, the actor writes how he is willing to support his son no matter what.

“Si-ha likes pink color and he sometimes wants to be a princess,” writes the actor. “Then I will support him for that. I think what’s the most important is not some socially set standards, but Si-ha’s happiness.”

“FYI, I like pink too,” he continued. “Still, I have two kids.”

With the posting, he shared pictures of Si-ha and Si-an they took while filming for “The Return of Superman.” In the episode, Si-an mistakes Si-ha as a girl and takes him for a playdate.

Throughout the episode, Si-an thinks Si-ha is a girl and suggests him to wear a dress and hair accessories. The episode portrayed how Si-ha’s gender-neutral appearance can mislead people. In response, Bong Tae-gyu took this as a chance to say that Si-ha is Si-ha just the way he is.
