On January 15, multiple media outlets reported that the female lead of the U.S. adaptation of Korean drama series, “Strong Girl Bong-Soon” has been chosen. According to the sources, mixed martial artist and professional wrestler Ronda Rousey is taking the strong girl’s role.

In the original version of the story, the character is acted by Park Bo-young, who is known for her petite and harmless appearance. The plot uses such appearance as a key for her secretive fights against the bad.

As the U.S. production takes a surprise turn in the casting, it is also expected to alter the plot accordingly.

Ronda Rousey, alongside her career as an athlete, has appeared in films and TV shows, including “Furious 7” and “Mile 22.”
