American horror film Hereditary (dir. Ari Aster, 2018) is attracting a high number of audiences to Korean theaters.

According to the data achieved by the Korean Film Council, Hereditary had a total of 71,480 viewers from June 8th to the 10th, which was the film’s first release weekend. The film has so far gained 101,754 viewers.

Currently, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is at #1 in South Korean box office and Believer at #2. Hereditary is ranked #3.

Hereditary is a horror film about a family that is under a horrific curse, which was all started from the grandmother. The film is often compared to the 1973 film The Exorcist that is one of the best known horror films.
