On August 2, Fox released the trailer for its upcoming variety show, “The Masked Singer.” Only in four days, the video has reached 5 million views on YouTube.

What surprised people the most were the show’s bonker costumes. Differentiated from the original series’ cute yet crude masks, those shown in the U.S. trailer are much elaborated, fitting themselves to Hollywood’s fame.

First premiered in Korea in 2015, the show has proved its global popularity, selling its format to seven different countries including Thailand, China, and India. The American version of the show, “The Masked Singer,” will premiere in January 2019.
