Two Korean movies, Along With the Gods: The Two Worlds and 1987, are currently dominating South Korea’s box office.

According to the data collected by The Korean Film Council, Along With the Gods gained 267,566 audiences just on the 5th, which makes the total number of viewers 10,451,248.

After its release, the movie has never missed #1 in box office. The number of its daily audiences has also been steady, reaching over 200,000. The movie is also being screened at a total of 1210 theaters.

1987 is also showing a great box office record. On the 5th, the movie attracted 201,815 audiences to the theaters. The total number of viewers is 3,231,388. Considering only production cost, 1987‘s break-even point is about 4,000,000; and if the great box-office performance continues, it looks like it will pass the point.

Meanwhile, a number of foreign films including Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle and Ferdinand are now showing in Korean theaters. However, they aren’t performing well in box office because of the success of Korean films.
