Lee Tae-im’s abrupt announcement came as a surprise to more people than just her fans.
On the morning of March 19, Actress Lee Tae-in announced her retirement from the entertainment industry via an Instagram post. In the post, she wrote “I have had a lot of thoughts and pain as the days have gone by. I have decided that for now on I am going to live a normal life.” She added that “I will not forget the people who gave me love,” probably directed toward fans.
In response to media inquiries, an official from the actress’ agency said, ” We didn’t even know that Lee Tae-im posted a message about retiring on social media.” Further, “Although she has struggled in her career, I never thought she would post something like this. It seems like we’ll have to find out the truth.”
The reason for Lee’s sudden decision is unknown. Some have speculated that the actress is still subjected to rumors, personal attacks, and malicious comments that arose after she was swept up in a scandal year earlier. The incident occurred on the set of “My Tutor Friend,” where she was recorded cursing at Kim Ye-won. In a later interview, Lee revealed she had seriously considered retiring at that time.
Meanwhile, Lee Tae-im has starred in the 2017 drama “The Lady in Dignity” and “Entourage.”
