Yuehua says Mei Qi and Xuan Yi will promote with both WJSN and Rocket Girls.
On August 17, WJSN’s Chinese agency Yuehua Entertainment released an official statement regarding the upcoming promotional activities for Mei Qi and Xuan Yi. The agency reported, “we have ended a long debate with positive outcomes. The members will promote with both WJSN and Rocket Girls.”
After the two came in first and second place of Chinese “Produce 101” in June, they had initially promised a dual promotion with both WJSN and Rocket Girls. However, two months later, Yueha reported that both members have left Rocket Girls due to an “unreasonable and unmanageable schedule arrangement” that had caused “mental stress and physical harm to the artists.”
In response, the representatives of Rocket Girls stated that Yuehua’s claims were not built on a legal basis, therefore they will continue to preserve the rights of exclusively managing the artists.
Finally, the two parties got together for a negotiation, from which they agreed upon the dual promotions of the members. Yuehua Entertainment stated, “until now, the representatives of Rocket Girls demanded that Mei Qi and Xuan Yi promote as Rocket Girls, exclusively. However, we suggested that for fans and representatives from both countries who love the two members, they participate in dual promotions with both groups.”
As a result, they have amiably agreed that Mei Qi and Xuan Yi will promote as members of both Rocket Girls and WJSN, and pay back the love they received from fans in both Korea and China.
