Comedian Yoo Byung-jae donated 10 million won to help low-income single mothers get by.

On Thursday, Yoo Byung-jae posted on his personal Instagram account informing his followers that he donated 10 million won ($8,950). The comedian made the donation to the Internation Development Cooperation NGO Foundation. Currently, this organization is running a campaign for single mothers.

Yoo made the donation with March and the holiday that opens the month in mind. March 1 marks the 100th anniversary since Korea’s independence movement from Japanese Imperial rule.

“March’s donation was made today because it is a holiday tomorrow, ” said the comedian. According to the foundation, it will use the money to assist single mothers to handle childcare needs and other matters that they have to tackle alone.

Meanwhile, Yoo continues to be a good influence and example by making donations, usually every month, to help people in need.

In December, he donation 10 million won to the House of Sharing, a nursing home for living comfort women, sexual slaves during Japanese military rule, in Seoul. Likewise, in January Yoo donated the same amount to help children in poverty while February was to help youth who could not afford necessities like sanitary pads.
