Drama “Welcome to Waikiki” has confirmed the cast members for the second season.
On January 10, the production team of “Welcome to Waikiki” announced the casting confirmations from six actors, Lee Yi-kyung, Kim Sun-ho, Moon Ga-young, Ahn So-hee, and Kim Ye-won. Except for Lee Yi-kyung, five leading characters are new in the second season.
The second season takes the setting from the original. While Lee Jun-gi, acted by Lee Yi-kyung, invites college friends to the guest house Waikiki in the first season, he invites high school friends in the second season.
“Welcome to Waikiki” premiered in February 2018. The comical drama received positive feedback from many and fans enthusiastically asked for the second season.
The production team accepted the request, but the drama faced troubles casting the original actors. The leading character Kim Jung-hyun is currently in hiatus due to sleep and dietary disorders. Son Seung-won is waiting for the court order for DUI.
Nonetheless, fans are much anticipating the second season that will be led by the revamped cast. “Welcome to Waikiki Season 2” will premiere in the first half of 2019.
