Girl group TWICE is releasing their 3rd Japanese Single ‘Wake Me Up’ on May 16.
On April 16, JYP Entertainment said, “Twice is releasing their 3rd Japanese single ‘Wake Me Up’ on the 16th of May. The song ‘Wake Me Up’ has a keyword of “challenge,” and it talks about not giving up and only moving forward.”
Regarding the comeback, TWICE released new profile pictures and cover images on their official Japanese website. In the released photos, each member portrayed their own unique and individual charm.
Twice also proved their influence on the Japanese commercial market by placing 3rd for the February Japanese Brand Reputation Chart. As a result, their collaboration with Nike’s sneakers line ‘Nike Air Max’ gathered much attention. They were selected to model the sneakers in the Japanese ABC mart’s TV commercials and even their newest single ‘Wake Me Up’ was selected as the commercial song.
Following their 3rd Japanese single release, TWICE will host ‘TWICELAND ZONE 2: Fantasy Park.” The tour will begin in Seoul at the Jamsil Arena from May 18th to 20th and continue onto Japan. It will take place at the Saitama Super Arena on May 26th and 27th, and at the Osaka-jo Hall on June 2nd and 3rd. Compared to their first showcase tour in January and February, the upcoming tour will take place at a bigger venue to hold at least 1 million more seats.
Meanwhile, TWICE released their 5th mini album ‘What is Love?’ and swept away various music charts. Despite the fact that it was a mini-album, they sold over 3.5 million albums. Furthermore, the music video for ‘What is Love?’ became the fastest K-pop girl group music video to reach 40 million views.
