Girl group Girls’ Generation’s member Taeyeon (28) has caused a car accident involving three vehicles on the 28th.

According to the Seoul Gangnam Police Station, Taeyeon was driving her Mercedes-Benz car around 8 P.M. from the Hakdong Station to Nonhyeon Station. Then she crashed into the Kia K5 taxi in front of her, and as a result, the taxi also crashed into the Audi car in front of it.

Because of this accident, 2 taxi riders and 1 Audi driver were injured and transported to the hospital. It has been reported that these victims had no significant external injuries.

Police said, “After DUI testing, we confirmed that Taeyeon had no alcohol in her body. For now, we are seeing the cause of the accident as the driver’s negligence on keeping eyes forward. We will make a through investigation about the exact damage and cause of the accident soon.”

Taeyeon’s agency SM Entertainment announced, “While driving for her personal schedule, Taeyeon caused a traffic accident because of careless driving. We would like to apologize to the victims including the drivers and riders, and we will do our best to deal with the situation.”

SM continued and said, “Right now, Taeyeon is taking a rest at home after completing required steps with the police. She has not been injured. Again, we are truly sorry to worry you.”

Meanwhile, an Instagram user claiming to be a victim of Taeyeon’s accident showed anger about how the police and ambulance workers dealt with the accident.

The writer said, “as a result of the accident, both front and back windows were broken, the airbags were deployed, and the glass were all over the victim’s clothes and bodies. However, just because the offender (Taeyeon) was a famous female idol star, she was transported to the hospital first.”

Because the post caused controversy, the writer has deactivated his or her account.
