“Something in the Rain” couple Son Ye-jin and Jung Hae-in may end up in the lead roles of an upcoming series.
On Monday, Jung Hae-in‘s agency FNC Entertainment commented that “nothing has been decided yet” regarding news that the actor may take a role in MBC’s upcoming romantic drama “Spring Night” (working title).
What is catching people’s attention is that writer Kim Eun and director Ahn Pan-Seok, who both worked on JTBC’s “Something in the Rain” will reunite on the new show. According to reports, “Spring Night” is about a story about a couple assessing and reflecting on their relationship as they consider marriage.
Additionally, with Kim and Ahn behind the camera and Jung in front, expectations are rising for a great and emotional romantic drama similar to their last work — and it just may happen.
Also, the female lead of “Spring Night” is reportedly Son Ye-jin. Regarding this, an official from MS Team Entertainment confirmed that producers asked her to appear in the show. Currently, she is reviewing the offer.
News that Jung and Son may appear on screen together again has left fans hopeful. In “Something in the Rain” the two had fantastic chemistry and a beautiful on-screen love story that touched many. Of course, there are concerns that with the same writer, director, and actors that it will be too similar to “Something in the Rain” or worse, not live up to expectations.
Even so, both actors have already proven their ability to act as different roles and will likely create characters that are distinctly different. That is if they chose to take part in the drama. Both are reviewing the casting offer, and nothing is nailed down. A representative from MBC said that they are in the middle of casting the lead actors. It is unknown whether they reached out to others.
Meanwhile, “Spring Night” is scheduled to air this May.
