Girls’ Generation (SNSD) member Seohyun is joining the art team heading to Pyeongyang next month.
According to reports on March 25, Seohyeon has joined the envoy of artists who are performing in North Korea in April. Furthermore, according to these reports, she will be going as an MC for the performance and as a singer.
However, it is not known whether Seohyun is scheduled to have a solo performance or a joint performance with others in the envoy. More, there also appears to be a possibility that she’ll perform with a North Korean art troupe.
The idea is not farfetched. During the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics, Seohyun performed with the North Korean Samjiyeon Orchestra at the close of the event. This performance made headlines and became the talk of the town the inter-Korean relationship warms.
Due to the face that Sohyun’s inclusion is last-minute, some have tried to determine the reason behind the decision. Some believe that she is popular with North Korean youth. Meanwhile, the South Korean art team will visit Pyeongyang from March 31 to April 3. The team, which includes Red Velvet, Lee Sun-hee, Ailee, Beak Ji-young, and more, will perform at the East Pyeongyang Grand Theater.
