“Luther” was originally a British crime drama that aired on BBC One channel in 2010. The first few episodes told a story between a brilliant psychopath/murderer Alice Morgan, and a passionate detective chief inspector Luther, who becomes in charge of the investigation.

Shin Ha-Gyun will take on the role of Woo Tae-Suk, an equivalent character to John Luther from the original drama, portrayed by actor Idris Elba. In the Korean remake, Woo Tae-Suk is a lonely detective standing on the borderline between the evil and the good. With “Luther,” Shin Ha-Gyun returns to the small screen for the first time in two years, since tvN drama “Pied Piper.”

On the other hand, Cha Sun-Woo (Baro) takes on the role of Woo Tae-Suk’s junior detective. After he left B1A4, Cha had announced that he signed with HODU&U Entertainment, thus becoming a full-time actor. At the time, the actor also wrote a letter to his former fans, apologizing and thanking them for understanding his decision. In the letter, the actor had said, “no matter where I am, I will always cherish the memories I made with my members and you BANA’s. I will work harder until the day I can come back as B1A4 Baro.”

Meanwhile, the upcoming MBC drama “Luther” will premiere in October, following the end of “Bad Papa.”
