Flowers are in full bloom, the breeze is gentle, and the al fresco weather is finally here in Seoul. Let’s head to the rooftop venues, where you can absorb the sun or relax in the evening breeze while enjoying the spectacular city view.

During the Day☀

The 100 Food Truck

If anyone asks me where the best place to spot the city view of Itaewon is, I would lead him to The 100 Food Truck right away. If you’re looking for a luxurious view created by the N-tower and skyscrapers, however, your expectations won’t be met.

The view from this rooftop burger shop is rather humble, presenting narrow alleys of old residential neighborhood. However, the contrast between the neighborhood and high-rise buildings behind it hints a bit of honest juxtaposition of the city.

Slow Steady Club

The flagship store of Slow Steady Club is known for its great selection of brands as well as the rooftop where visitors can refill the energy after shopping. The compact rooftop space of the store makes a great place to rest your tired feet while absorbing the tranquility of the hanok neighborhood.

Kong G Pot G

21-15, Bukchon-ro, Jongno-gu, Seoul

Another great spot to savor the tranquil view of hanok village, Kong G Pot G presents a unique harmony of Italian fine dining experience and beautiful ambience created by traditional Korean buildings.

Take a slice of beef wellington and a sip of wine, and then take a look around to find kiwa roofs surrounding you. It’s almost surreal!

By Night?

Mmm Records

145, Usadan-ro 10-gil, Yongsan-gu, Seoul

Mmm Records, which is located on the opposite side of Seoul Central Mosque on Usadan-ro, is not easy to locate. But once you step inside the place, the hipster vibes created by cool music and colorfully dimmed lights will steal your attention.

Grab your drink and food and climb the stairs to the rooftop floor, where you will once again be mesmerized by the view. With the view of light-emitting N-tower and a bottle of beer in your hand, you won’t need anything else for the night.

Seoulism

435, Baekjegobun-ro, Songpa-gu, Seoul

Seoulism is a rooftop cafe and pub where one can spot a great night sight of Seoul. From the rooftop, customers can enjoy urban sightseeing embellished with 123-story Lotte World Tower building.

Seoulism’s sizeable sign, which boldly reads “Seoul,” implies the owner’s ambition to establish a new landmark in the city. You may find it a bit too touristy, but still, it will make a great photo zone!
