A malicious commenter has received 6 months of jail time for sending a sexually harassing message to AOA’s Seolhyun online.

On October 23, FNC Entertainment reported, “in April, we pressed charges against a man who repeatedly sent sexually harassing and offensive messages to Seolhyun’s Instagram, which Seolhyun manages herself. As a result, the Incheon District Court gave a prison sentence of 6 months, replaceable with 2 years of probation.”

This is not the first time Seolhyun had to deal with sexual harassment. Earlier this year, the singer went through a controversy where an edited nude photo of her spread widely online.

In response, the agency announced to take legal action against those who leaked and spread the photo. Currently, the two people who spread the photo are waiting for the court’s decision.

Furthermore, FNC announced that there is one more netizen who is waiting to heart the court’s decision for charges of defamation, the spread of false information, and malicious slander. Others alike him are currently undergoing investigation with the prosecution.

At the end, the company reaffirmed that it will continue to take strong legal action with no leniency to protect the basic rights of their artists and to correct the damaged cyber culture.
