S.E.S Eugene strongly denies being the girl group member involved in a gambling money controversy that came to light on August 2.

On August 3, Eugene’s agency C9 Entertainment released an official statement denying her involvement in the gambling money controversy. The agency said, “Eugene has nothing to do with the gambling controversy. At this time, she is in the last month of pregnancy with her second child. Therefore, she can’t have anything to do with any sort of gambling.”

On August 2, it was revealed that a famous girl group member from the 1990s was reportedly not paying her debts, which had resulted from gambling. The Kyunghyang Shinmun reported that two different lenders have sued the member for fraud that has accumulated up to $600K.

Soon enough, the public started guessing who the person was, leading up to Eugene receiving the accusations. In response, C9 Entertainment said, “we feel very uncomfortable and speechless to be mentioned in something so unpleasant.”

“Eugene plans to focus all her time and mind on taking care of herself and the baby. We hope there is no more misunderstanding,” concluded the agency.

Meanwhile, the Seoul Eastern District Prosecutors announced that they are currently on the case to find out more details on the accused girl group member.
