Actors Ryu Seung-Bum and Park Jung-Min have confirmed to star in the 3rd installment of South Korean ‘Tazza’ movie series.

On June 27, several sources from the film industry confirmed that Ryu Seung-Bum and Park Jung-Min are joining the cast of ‘Tazza 3,’ directed by director Kwon Oh-Kwang. At the same time, the movie production team also revealed that they are currently in search of actresses to take on the female leads.

‘Tazza 3’ is the 3rd installment of Tazza movie series. It is based on an original cartoon ‘Tazza: One Eyed Jack,’ drawn by South Korean cartoon artist, Huh Young-Man. Director Kwon Oh-Kwang, who is in charge of the production, is known for producing films such as ‘Collective Intervention’ in 2015, and ‘Safe’ in 2013.

In 2006 film ‘Tazza: The High Rollers,’ actor Cho Seung-Woo played the male lead, and BIGBANG’s T.O.P in the second installment, ‘Tazza: The Hidden Card.’ In the third movie, actor Park Jung-Min took on the role to follow the footsteps of previous male leads.

Park Jung-Min first debuted in film industry with ‘Bleak Night’ in 2011, in which he co-starred with Lee Jae-Hoon. Afterwards, he appeared in various other movies, including ‘Dongju: The Portrait of a Poet,’ ‘Psychokinesis,’ and ‘Keys to the Heart.’

Ryu Seung-Bum, on the other hand, will take on the role of Aekku. In the movie, the character, whose name means “one-eyed” in Korean, will play a central role in designing and gambling games.

This is welcoming news to Ryu’s fans, because with ‘Tazza 3,’ the actor is finally returning to the screen for the first time in a while. If the movie were to come out next year, that would mean that Ryu Seung-Bum is returning to the screen for the first time in 3 years.

If there is one thing that’s different about ‘Tazza 3’ from its prequel movies is that the main game is different. While they played Hanafuda in the first two movies, the characters in the upcoming album will engage in the game of Poker. Overall, the movie will tell a story about Do Il-Chul (Park Jung-Min), who gets involved in a fraudulent gambling, but later becomes a professional gambler by joining forces with a game designer (Ryu Seung-Bum).

In the meantime, a source from the production team also revealed that they are currently searching for female leads to join the cast. They said, “about 5 main characters appear in the movie, which includes two female characters. We are anticipating an actress who has a different vibe from Kim Hye-Soo in the first movie, who showed off a rather sexy charisma.”
