Famed soccer player and arguably one of the best players to come out of Asia will be a commentator for the upcoming World Cup.
Park Ji-sung, the current ambassador for Manchester United, is expected to act as a commentator for SBS’s coverage of the World Cup in Russia.
SBS announced the news on May 9. Further, with his expertise, the broadcast network is planning to provide “in-depth explanations” on the event and increase excitement. This is not the first time that the famous soccer player has been called upon for the World Cup. Park’s first time being a commentator started at the 2014 games in Brazil.
Since Park decided to retire in 2014, he was dedicated a lot of his time to developing Korean soccer. In particular, he works to nurture promising young players who are struggling to prepare for the JS cup and AFC U-19 championship. More, last year he was inaugurated as the head of the Korean Soccer (football) Association Youth Strategy Division.
Meanwhile, on May 16 Park will speak more about his role in an official press conference.
