Actor Park Bo-gum and actress Park Bo-young won the Best Actor and Best Actress Award for Hallyu Drama at the Seoul Drama Awards 2017 respectively.
The Seoul Drama Awards 2017 was held in Yeouido-dong, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, at KBS Hall on Sept 7. Actor Yoo Dong-geun and Actress Lee Yoo-ri presented the awards to Park Bo-gum and Park Bo-young.
Park Bo-young, who attended the ceremony despite her ankle injury, received the award for her performance in JTBC drama ‘Strong Woman Do Bong-soon’. “I don’t know if it is alright for me to receive this award, but I will take it with a thankful heart. Every time I act in a drama, I feel as though I am not capable enough. I’ve especially felt that for this drama,” she said.
“I was able to persevere through it all because of our loving audience. I want to convey my deep thanks to the writers, PD, my fellow actors and actresses, and the staff members,” she added.
“The filming site was in poor condition, but I feel as though I was the one who received a lot of care. I often look back and ask myself if I really did give it my all. I feel apologetic and embarrassed, but I will work hard to become a better actress.”
Park Bo-gum also received the award for his performance in KBS2 Drama ‘Moonlight Drawn By Clouds’. “I would first like to give thanks and honor to God. I feel honored to be able to participate in an event that features works from all over the world, and am also thankful to receive this huge award. Last year, I received so many blessings. Even though a year has passed, I want to thank those who continue to show love for the this work,” he said.
“I would also like to thank all the staff and actors. I was able to work hard to become a better person because of all the wonderful people I got to work with. From now on, I will work to become a warm-hearted actor. Lastly, even the language we speak is different, I would like to express my thanks to my fans worldwide.”
Shin Dong-yup and Actress Kim Jung-eun were the MCs for the event.
